The Wholesale Poultry and Rabbit Market of Milan is the leading market in Italy with respect to the marketing – in compliance with EU sanitary regulations – of meat of: chicken, turkey, guinea-fowl, quail, game, goose, duck, as well as eggs, processed and precooked products containing ‘white’ meat, and not only.

The Market is the only one in Italy specifically devoted to this typology of meat and is a fundamental benchmark for the whole domestic and international commodity sector.

Nearly all the marketed goods are destined to consumption in Milan and its province.  Purchasers at the Milanese market are made up of retailers, hawkers, restaurateurs, the general Public, public institutes and hospitals.

A negotiation hall for aviculture products has been created in the Poultry and Rabbit Market: a real “Stock Exchange” hosting sales representatives from the most important Italian firms in the aviculture sector, who, by telephone and without the displaying of the goods, negotiate over 50% of the whole domestic consumption.

This is the only negotiation hall in Italy devoted exclusively to already butchered aviculture products.

Meeting every Wednesday is the Price Commission of CCIAA (Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture), of which also SO.GE.M.I. is a member, in order to draw up a wholesale price list of aviculture products.  This is in addition to the price list prepared by SO.GE.M.I. on each market day.
